Thanksgiving is right around the corner and I’ve rounded up some of my favorite Thanksgiving Desserts for Smaller Gatherings. This Thanksgiving may look a little different than years past, and if you are expecting a few less people around your table this year, you can still wow everyone with a delicious dessert!
Mini Cakes for Thanksgiving
To start the Thanksgiving Desserts for Smaller Gatherings collection, I’ve selected a few of my small batch cake recipes. These are easy cake recipes, and perfect to feed smaller crowds.
The classic roll cake full of pumpkin flavor and filled with a chocolate cream cheese frosting.
Almond, Cardamom, and Coconut come together beautifully in this show-stopping cake!
Pumpkin is the quintessential flavor for fall. And when you combine it with cheesecake, you have a purely decadent dessert!
Thanksgiving Cupcakes and Bars
Two of my favorite desserts – cupcakes and dessert bars. I like the mini size that makes it easier for portion control. But maybe it doesn’t work the greatest when you eat 4 in one sitting … 🙂
Whipped ganache and marshmallow whip round out these yummy little cupcakes!
Cheesecake bars that are loaded with all of the cozy flavors and spices of Fall!
Thanksgiving Cookie Ideas
Cookies are such a versatile dessert. You can take a sugar cookie, chocolate chip cookie, or cakey cookie and pretty much add any flavor you like to them. Proper baking disclosure – just make sure the flavor addition doesn’t alter the batter too much.
Add a little cinnamon and cayenne to give these soft chocolate cookie sandwiches a warm kick!
The versatile sugar cookie gets a kick with pumpkin spice and maple flavored royal icing.
A perfectly soft and cakey cookie studded with apple chunks and finished with rich caramel icing.
There is a debate on whether the whoopie pie is a cookie or a cake. Doesn’t matter to me – I’m still going to eat them without a fork!
Thanksgiving Breakfast Recipes
Though you may be busy in the kitchen Thanksgiving day, don’t forget your breakfast! So, why not start the day right with a sweet treat that features the cozy flavors of Fall and Thanksgiving
Moist and flavorful mini pumpkin bread is highlighted with a cinnamon sugar crunch topping.
A muffin is a great way to start the day – and this one is loaded with fresh apples chunks and tons of pumpkin flavor.
Oh, these donuts … one with a Nutella glaze. Another with a maple cream glaze. And another with good old-fashioned cinnamon sugar. Yum.
This is a small batch of the beloved cinnamon roll baked with a sliced apple and caramel sauce.
Dessert Alternative to Pumpkin Pie
I’m working on more dessert alternatives to pumpkin pie for this Fall. In the meantime, these Pumpkin Pudding Napoleon Pastries are my favorite recipe on the blog. No lie.
Think of a creamy pumpkin pie filling. But we are making it even richer by turning it into a pudding. Then layer that between flaky sheets of pastry – dusted with cinnamon sugar.
A delicious alternative to pumpkin pie. Not to mention a creative dessert presentation!
